Prelude Carolinas Thank You!!!
On behalf of the More Than Dance staff, I would like to thank everyone who participated in Prelude Carolinas. The event was a huge success and we have no one else to thank but you guys. It was a huge honor for More Than Dance to be a part of this amazing competition that brought together so many people, not just dancers. One can’t help but become a little emotional when they see all of these talented dancers together in one place. Prelude’s goal of uniting dancers in one community was definitely accomplished this past weekend. It’s crazy to see how much the dance community in the Carolinas has grown within just a year, and it’s great to know that this is only the beginning.
One of the main things that I noticed throughout the weekend was the healthy competition and support for one another. Egos and rivalries seemed nonexistent. During the MTD and FFB workshop, Alan Truong even commented on the support everyone was giving each other as the first group went up to dance his piece and everyone else went to the front to watch instead of practicing on the side.
The staff would like to send special thank you’s to Tony Calub for bringing Prelude to the Carolinas. Kentrell Newton, Chris Munar, Courtney Gardner and David Curameng for judging. Kornelious Bascombe for being an awesome host, and Edwin Whitted for being our DJ.
Also, huge shout out to the More Than Dance Street Team and volunteers for helping out with the months of planning and ensuring that the show ran smoothly.
Lastly, staff would like to thank UNC’s VSA for holding a joint after party with us that benefitted Children of Vietnam and Fresh From Birth for co-hosting a dope workshop with us.
I personally would like to thank the More Than Dance staff for everything, you guys work so hard for More Than Dance and none of this would be possible without you!
We have a lot of other things in the works for More Than Dance that I’m excited about, so as I get back to work, thank you all for being so amazing.
